ffurfiodd mattoidz yn 2002 ar gyfer brwydr y bandiau Cymdeithas yr Iaith. Wedi eu hysbrydoli gan fandiau'r gorllewin - DOM, Jess, Cerrig Melys ac Ail Symudiad - aeth y band ymlaen i berfformio gigiau ledled y wlad a rhyddhau tair albym rhwng 2005 a 2013. Cymrodd y band saib wedi hynny i wneud pethau pwysicach ond nawr mae'r creisis canol oed wedi cicio mewn a bellach.... wel cawn weld!

mattoidz - a rock band from Wales - formed in 2002 and released their first EP - ‘Tan y tro nesa’ - on the Rasp label in 2003. The band recorded their first album ‘Edrych yn well o bell’ at Fflach studio in 2005 – an album that was nominated for album of the year at the Radio Cymru awards and led to Mattoidz winning the band of the year award the following year.

After releasing two further albums in 2008 (Llygaid Cau a Dilyn Trefn) and 2013 (Tri) and performing countless gigs, including supporting Gruff Rhys, Euros Childs and the Automatic, the band took an extended break to focus on family and work.

Now, 20 years after first recording at Fflach, Mattoidz are returning to the studios where it all began to record new material.
